Season of Transitions
Support Yourself Through Identify Shifts of Motherhood
It’s officially a brand new year, and that comes with 365 fresh, new days. Some of you may have recently became a new mama, some may have recently started a new job, and some may have decided to head back to school to further your education. Each comes with a season of transition.
Every Monday, the Breathe. ladies get together for a weekly meeting, and this week we discussed how our perception of our own identity can have a huge impact on our physical, mental, and emotional health. Adding new roles, such as mother; wife; student; or nana can be hugely positive new titles to add to your name, but can also come with an unexpected identity shift.
I, Liz, transitioned from being a student for the past 19-years to being a full-time physical therapist last year. Learning to adjust to a full patient caseload and to find my footing as a new professional was a HUGE adjustment for me. I also became a wife a little over a month ago, and while I have dated my now husband for 8-years, there is still a learning curve to being an individual, yet tackling life together.
With each shift and added title to your identity remember–change is good; change is growth. At Breathe., no matter the season of life or transition you are in the midst of–we can help. Physical and emotional support are so important during these seasons of your life.
